Wildlife Garden

  • This nature-loving family wanted to transform their dull, lifeless garden into a vibrant outdoor space brimming with wildlife and year-round interest. Their wish list included a wildlife pond, greenhouse, discreet storage, and planting for all seasons - creating a garden that would entice them outdoors and provide lush green views from inside their home.

  • The existing garden was dominated by two bright blue outbuildings and a rotting deck, leaving little charm or connection to nature. The challenge was to soften and rebalance the space, integrating practical features and wildlife habitats while ensuring it felt inviting, beautiful, and family-friendly.

  • The new design creates a soft, natural atmosphere that draws you out into a cultivated yet wildlife-rich garden. A new greenhouse offers space for potting and seed-growing, while sunny vegetable beds sit conveniently near the house. Trees now provide screening, seasonal colour, and habitat for birds and insects. Nectar-rich perennials, log piles, and a wildlife pond (with child-safe cover) encourage biodiversity, now home to newts and visiting hedgehogs.

Sensory details :the sound of water, the textures of lush planting, and areas for play, den building, and mud kitchen fun keep the whole family connected to nature. With a firepit for evening gatherings, outdoor dining space, and a generous lawn, the garden now offers endless enjoyment.

Designed and built in 2018, it continues to flourish, bringing joy and cherished memories to the family as their children grow up still loving the outdoors.
